Reis's engagement shoot
In June of 2019, Reis knew he wanted to spend his life with Jessica. He knew he wanted to pop the big question, but he didn't know where or when, or how.
He eventually decided on London as the location, as it was a city they both loved. He also knew he wanted a photographer to be there to capture the moment, and the look of surprise on Jessica's face.
He searched for 'London photographers' and found us, Perfocal. When talking with our customer service team, Reis went out on a limb and asked if we knew any good spots around London for an engagement. We gave him the hint of St Dunstan in the East church gardens.
St Dunstan is a 12th-century church nestled in the heart of London. Severely damaged during the Blitz, its ruins have been transformed into a beautiful and tranquil garden. It's a very little-known oasis in a big city, and the perfect place to have a special moment with the one you love.
In preparation, Reis decided to get to the gardens with Jessica as early as possible to avoid crowds.
He booked a 1-hour shoot with us, with just 2 days notice before the proposal.
Naturally, we found Reis one of the best wedding photographers going, Ligia. She met them at the gates of the church gardens at 8.15am on a Saturday for the big surprise.
The quiet summer morning was the perfect opportunity to get some pre-wedding shots. Of course, an engagement shoot wouldn't be an engagement shoot without a close-up of the ring, the happy face of the bride-to-be, and a shot of a loving embrace.
It will come as no surprise - she said yes!
